The Semacon S-1015 Currency Counter is a high-performance, compact machine engineered for businesses, banks, and cash handling centers that require fast, accurate, and secure cash management. This reliable counter streamlines daily operations by combining efficient high-speed counting with essential UV counterfeit detection and a user-friendly interface.
Key Benefits & Ideal Users
The S-1015 is built for reliability and efficiency, processing cash at a speed of up to 900 bills per minute. While focusing on precision, this speed ensures a significant reduction in time spent on manual counting, leading to higher staff productivity and quicker end-of-day reconciliation.
Security is enhanced by the integrated UV (Ultraviolet) Counterfeit Detection. This sensor automatically verifies UV security features embedded in legitimate banknotes, instantly identifying fraudulent currency and safeguarding your business against financial loss. The machine's advanced counting technology is precision-engineered to virtually eliminate counting errors.
Ideal for:
- Small to Mid-Sized Retailers: Where high-speed counting and basic counterfeit protection are daily necessities.
- Office Environments: For reliable expense tracking, petty cash management, and bank deposit preparation.
- Any Business: Requiring a compact, durable machine that delivers consistent, error-free counting performance.
Use Cases: Efficient and Organized Cash Flow
- Fast Daily Reconciliation: Achieve verified, accurate cash totals quickly with the 900 bills/min speed, minimizing employee time on closing procedures.
- Basic Fraud Defense: Use the built-in UV detection to automatically screen all counted bills for common counterfeits, ensuring that the currency you process is genuine.
- Organized Batch Preparation: The Batch Function allows for the pre-setting of specific note quantities. This is perfect for quickly bundling bills for bank deposits or preparing exact starting floats for cash registers.
- Space-Saving Durability: With its compact dimensions ($9" \times 11.5" \times 5.5"$) and lightweight design ($10\text{ lbs}$), the S-1015 fits easily into crowded counters or small back offices while its durable construction ensures long-term reliability.

Money Counters

1. Does a regular bill counter tell me the total dollar value?
No. A standard bill counter counts the number of pieces (quantity), not the denomination. For example, if you put in ten $5 bills and ten $20 bills, the machine will tell you there are "20 bills." You must pre-sort your money by denomination to calculate the total value. (If you need the machine to automatically calculate value for mixed stacks, check out our Currency Discriminators.)
2. How does the machine detect fake money?
Standard counters use two primary methods:
UV (Ultraviolet): It checks the paper’s reaction to UV light. Real US currency paper does not glow, but many counterfeit papers do.
MG (Magnetic): It scans for the magnetic ink used in the printing of authentic currency.
3. Can I count items other than currency?s.
Many of our regular bill counters can count other paper items of similar size, such as vouchers, tickets, or coupons, provided they fall within the machine's thickness and size specification
4. What is the "Batch" function used for?
The Batch function is a favorite for retail managers. It allows you to preset a number (like 25, 50, or 100). The machine will count exactly that many bills and then pause, allowing you to remove the stack and put a rubber band or paper strap around it for a bank deposit.
5. Why is my counter "double-feeding" or "jamming"?
This usually happens for one of three reasons:
Thickness Adjustment: There is a small tension screw on the back. If your bills are very new (thin) or very old (thick), you may need to adjust it slightly.
Dirty Sensors: Dust from paper currency can coat the sensors. A quick blast of compressed air usually fixes this.
Poor Loading: Ensure the bills are squared up and placed flat into the hopper for the smoothest feed.
