Semacon S-1215 – Professional High-Speed Counter with UV Detection

The Semacon S-1215 is a professional-grade solution built for businesses, banks, and financial institutions requiring ultra-fast, accurate, and secure currency management. This high-performance machine streamlines cash operations by combining dynamic counting speeds with advanced UV counterfeit detection. Known for Semacon’s legendary heavy-duty construction, the S-1215 is engineered to handle the most demanding high-volume environments with total precision.

Elite Velocity & Professional UV Security

The S-1215 is designed to eliminate back-office bottlenecks by offering the highest processing speeds available in a tabletop unit:

  • Selectable Industrial Speeds: Tailor your workflow with three selectable counting rates: 800, 1,200, or a maximum of 1,600 notes per minute. This top-tier speed significantly cuts down on labor time, allowing staff to process massive cash volumes in seconds.
  • Advanced UV Counterfeit Detection: Protect your business with integrated Ultraviolet (UV) sensors. This system automatically verifies the security features embedded in genuine banknotes, providing a reliable defense against fraudulent bills.
  • Precision Error Identification: Built-in Smart-Sensors instantly flag double bills, half notes, and chain notes, ensuring that every tally is 100% accurate and bank-ready.
  • Customizable Batching: The Batch Counting function allows operators to create specific note bundles quickly, perfect for preparing teller floats or ATM cassettes.

"Bank-Grade" Durability for Continuous Use

Semacon is world-renowned for building hardware that withstands the rigors of multi-shift commercial use:

  • Heavy-Duty Internal Components: At 15 lbs, the S-1215 features a robust chassis and industrial rollers designed for continuous, heavy-duty operation and "street-quality" currency.
  • High-Capacity Feed System: The generous 200–300 note hopper supports continuous counting sessions, reducing the frequency of reloads during large-scale deposit preparation.
  • Compact Professional Footprint: With dimensions of $10.5" \times 9.75" \times 9.5"$, the S-1215 provides industrial power without occupying excessive counter space in busy vault rooms.
  • One-Year Manufacturer Warranty: Your investment is protected by a solid one-year warranty, reflecting Semacon’s commitment to long-term reliability and performance.

1. Does a regular bill counter tell me the total dollar value?

No. A standard bill counter counts the number of pieces (quantity), not the denomination. For example, if you put in ten $5 bills and ten $20 bills, the machine will tell you there are "20 bills." You must pre-sort your money by denomination to calculate the total value. (If you need the machine to automatically calculate value for mixed stacks, check out our Currency Discriminators.)

2. How does the machine detect fake money?
Standard counters use two primary methods:

UV (Ultraviolet): It checks the paper’s reaction to UV light. Real US currency paper does not glow, but many counterfeit papers do.
MG (Magnetic): It scans for the magnetic ink used in the printing of authentic currency.

3. Can I count items other than currency?s.

Many of our regular bill counters can count other paper items of similar size, such as vouchers, tickets, or coupons, provided they fall within the machine's thickness and size specification

4. What is the "Batch" function used for?

The Batch function is a favorite for retail managers. It allows you to preset a number (like 25, 50, or 100). The machine will count exactly that many bills and then pause, allowing you to remove the stack and put a rubber band or paper strap around it for a bank deposit.

5. Why is my counter "double-feeding" or "jamming"?

This usually happens for one of three reasons:

Thickness Adjustment: There is a small tension screw on the back. If your bills are very new (thin) or very old (thick), you may need to adjust it slightly.
Dirty Sensors: Dust from paper currency can coat the sensors. A quick blast of compressed air usually fixes this.
Poor Loading: Ensure the bills are squared up and placed flat into the hopper for the smoothest feed.
