Semacon S-1615 – Professional Ultra High-Speed Counter (1,800 BPM)

The Semacon S-1615 is a professional-grade machine engineered for businesses, banks, and financial institutions that demand extreme speed and uncompromising reliability. Built for the efficient processing of massive currency volumes, the S-1615 ensures precision and minimizes errors in the most demanding, high-traffic environments. Known for Semacon’s legendary "Bank-Grade" durability, this machine is the definitive choice for operations where speed is the ultimate priority.

Elite Throughput & Precision Engineering

The S-1615 is designed to eliminate back-office bottlenecks by offering the highest mechanical counting speeds available in a tabletop unit:

  • Industry-Leading 1,800 BPM Speed: Choose from four selectable counting rates (up to 1,800 notes/min). This elite velocity allows you to process your largest cash batches in mere minutes, dramatically accelerating closing procedures.
  • High-Capacity Feed System: Featuring an expansive 400-note hopper, the S-1615 supports continuous, uninterrupted counting sessions—essential for high-volume reconciliation and preparing large bank deposits.
  • Advanced Error Detection: Smart-Sensors instantly identify double bills, half notes, and chain notes, ensuring the integrity of every count even at maximum speed.
  • Organized Batching: The Batch Function allows operators to quickly group bills into preset sizes, streamlining the process of bundling cash for deposits or preparing register floats.

"Bank-Grade" Durability for High-Volume Use

Semacon is world-renowned for building rugged hardware that survives the rigors of 24/7 commercial operations:

  • Industrial-Strength Build: At 14 lbs, the S-1615 features a robust internal chassis and heavy-duty rollers designed to handle "street-quality" currency that is worn, folded, or crumpled.
  • Compact Workspace Integration: With dimensions of $10.5" \times 11.5" \times 9.75"$, this machine provides professional-grade power without occupying excessive counter space in busy vault rooms or retail offices.
  • Low-Noise Operation: Engineered for high-speed performance without disruptive noise, making it suitable for quiet banking environments and professional offices alike.
  • 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty: Every S-1615 is backed by a solid one-year warranty, reflecting Semacon’s commitment to long-term reliability and professional performance.

1. Does a regular bill counter tell me the total dollar value?

No. A standard bill counter counts the number of pieces (quantity), not the denomination. For example, if you put in ten $5 bills and ten $20 bills, the machine will tell you there are "20 bills." You must pre-sort your money by denomination to calculate the total value. (If you need the machine to automatically calculate value for mixed stacks, check out our Currency Discriminators.)

2. How does the machine detect fake money?
Standard counters use two primary methods:

UV (Ultraviolet): It checks the paper’s reaction to UV light. Real US currency paper does not glow, but many counterfeit papers do.
MG (Magnetic): It scans for the magnetic ink used in the printing of authentic currency.

3. Can I count items other than currency?s.

Many of our regular bill counters can count other paper items of similar size, such as vouchers, tickets, or coupons, provided they fall within the machine's thickness and size specification

4. What is the "Batch" function used for?

The Batch function is a favorite for retail managers. It allows you to preset a number (like 25, 50, or 100). The machine will count exactly that many bills and then pause, allowing you to remove the stack and put a rubber band or paper strap around it for a bank deposit.

5. Why is my counter "double-feeding" or "jamming"?

This usually happens for one of three reasons:

Thickness Adjustment: There is a small tension screw on the back. If your bills are very new (thin) or very old (thick), you may need to adjust it slightly.
Dirty Sensors: Dust from paper currency can coat the sensors. A quick blast of compressed air usually fixes this.
Poor Loading: Ensure the bills are squared up and placed flat into the hopper for the smoothest feed.
