The LIDIX CL-2 is a professional, high-performance currency discriminator engineered for businesses and financial institutions that require speed, accuracy, and robust security in their daily cash handling. Designed for high-volume environments, the CL-2 excels at mixed currency counting and provides instant, secure authentication, making it an essential tool for optimizing cash operations.

Key Benefits: Speed, Security, and Seamless Processing

1. Blazing Speed and Throughput

The CL-2 is built for efficiency, offering an impressive, adjustable counting speed range of 800 to 1,500 notes per minute. This high throughput dramatically reduces the time spent on reconciliation, allowing staff to quickly process large volumes of cash.

  • Non-Stop Counting: The generous 500-note hopper capacity minimizes interruptions, and the large 250-note stacker supports extended counting sessions, ensuring a smooth, continuous workflow.
  • Streamlined Functions: Standard Batch and Add Functions further simplify operations, allowing for quick preparation of bank deposits or cash drawer setups.

2. Accurate Mixed Currency Handling

As a professional mixed currency discriminator, the CL-2 accurately counts and calculates the total value of multiple bill denominations simultaneously. This eliminates the need for manual pre-sorting, saving valuable labor time and reducing the risk of human error.

3. Advanced Counterfeit Detection

Security is non-negotiable. The LIDIX CL-2 protects your assets using a multi-layered, advanced counterfeit detection system: CIS, MG, UV, and IR sensors work in unison to thoroughly inspect every banknote, instantly identifying and rejecting fraudulent bills. This bank-grade assurance provides peace of mind and minimizes financial losses.

Ideal Users and Use Cases

The compact, reliable, and durable design of the LIDIX CL-2 makes it suitable for a variety of demanding environments:

  • Retail Banks & Credit Unions: Ideal for teller stations and back offices requiring quick, accurate verification of mixed customer deposits.
  • Large Retail and Supermarkets: Used for rapid, end-of-day reconciliation of high-volume cash revenues.
  • Money Service Businesses (MSB): Essential for secure, high-speed processing and authentication of mixed currency types.
  • Any High-Volume Business: Perfect as a primary counter where high throughput and reliable security are crucial.

1. What is the difference between a bill counter and a currency discriminator?

A standard bill counter is a "piece counter"—it tells you how many pieces of paper went through. A currency discriminator is a "value counter"—it uses digital eyes (CIS) to look at the bill, identify if it’s a $20 or a $100, and give you a total monetary value.

2. Is a currency discriminator better at catching fakes than a cheap counter?

Yes. Standard counters usually only check for magnetic ink or UV glow. Discriminators use Image Recognition, meaning they compare the actual artwork and security features of the bill against a high-resolution database. This is the only reliable way to catch "supernotes" or bleached bills (e.g., a $1 bill reprinted to look like a $100).

3. What does "1+1 Pocket" or "2-Pocket" mean?

This is one of the most searched terms.

  • A 1-Pocket machine stops and beeps every time it finds a suspect or "unfit" bill.
  • A 2-Pocket (1+1) machine has a separate Reject Pocket. It sends suspect bills to the top pocket while the main count continues without stopping. This is essential for high-volume environments.

4. Can currency discriminators count international money?

Most modern discriminators come with "Multi-Currency" modes. Because they rely on image scanning, they can be programmed to recognize the distinct designs of Euros, Canadian Dollars, British Pounds, and Mexican Pesos, often handling them all in the same stack.

5. Why is my discriminator giving a "CIS Error"?

This is usually a sign that the "eyes" of the machine are dirty. Cash is incredibly dusty; we recommend using cleaning cards or a microfiber cloth weekly to wipe the sensors. If the sensors are blocked by dust, the machine can't "see" the bill to identify it.
