LIDIX CL-2 Professional Mixed Currency Discriminator

The LIDIX CL-2 is a high-performance, professional currency discriminator engineered for businesses and financial institutions that demand speed, precision, and robust security. Built for high-volume cash environments, the CL-2 excels at mixed bill counting and provides instant, bank-grade authentication. It is the definitive tool for optimizing back-office cash operations and reducing labor costs associated with manual reconciliation.

Performance-Driven Cash Management

  • Blazing Throughput Speeds: The CL-2 is built for efficiency, offering an adjustable counting speed range of 800 to 1,500 notes per minute. This high-speed performance dramatically reduces the time spent on daily balancing, allowing staff to process large volumes of cash in seconds.
  • Accurate Mixed Value Counting: As a professional discriminator, the CL-2 automatically recognizes denominations and calculates the total value of mixed stacks. This eliminates manual pre-sorting, saving valuable labor time and virtually removing the risk of human counting errors.
  • Non-Stop Productivity: A generous 500-note hopper minimizes reloading interruptions, while the large 250-note stacker supports extended counting sessions. This ensures a smooth, continuous workflow during peak business hours.
  • Simplified Deposit Preparation: Standard Batch and Add functions allow your team to quickly set up cash drawers or prepare bank-ready deposits with cumulative totals.

Advanced 4-Point Counterfeit Detection

Security is at the core of the CL-2. To protect your business from fraudulent currency, the machine utilizes a multi-layered, bank-grade detection system that inspects every banknote in real-time:

  1. CIS (Contact Image Sensor): Full-surface image scanning for denomination recognition and authenticity.
  2. MG (Magnetic): Scans for magnetic ink patterns found on genuine currency.
  3. UV (Ultraviolet): Verifies the paper quality and UV security marks.
  4. IR (Infrared): Checks for infrared-sensitive security features embedded in bills.

This Lidix CL-2 is a fantastic little single-pocket value counter that completely takes the hassle out of balancing our mixed cash drawers at night

1. What is the difference between a bill counter and a currency discriminator?

A standard bill counter is a "piece counter"—it tells you how many pieces of paper went through. A currency discriminator is a "value counter"—it uses digital eyes (CIS) to look at the bill, identify if it’s a $20 or a $100, and give you a total monetary value.

2. Is a currency discriminator better at catching fakes than a cheap counter?

Yes. Standard counters usually only check for magnetic ink or UV glow. Discriminators use Image Recognition, meaning they compare the actual artwork and security features of the bill against a high-resolution database. This is the only reliable way to catch "supernotes" or bleached bills (e.g., a $1 bill reprinted to look like a $100).

3. What does "1+1 Pocket" or "2-Pocket" mean?

This is one of the most searched terms.

  • A 1-Pocket machine stops and beeps every time it finds a suspect or "unfit" bill.
  • A 2-Pocket (1+1) machine has a separate Reject Pocket. It sends suspect bills to the top pocket while the main count continues without stopping. This is essential for high-volume environments.

4. Can currency discriminators count international money?

Most modern discriminators come with "Multi-Currency" modes. Because they rely on image scanning, they can be programmed to recognize the distinct designs of Euros, Canadian Dollars, British Pounds, and Mexican Pesos, often handling them all in the same stack.

5. Why is my discriminator giving a "CIS Error"?

This is usually a sign that the "eyes" of the machine are dirty. Cash is incredibly dusty; we recommend using cleaning cards or a microfiber cloth weekly to wipe the sensors. If the sensors are blocked by dust, the machine can't "see" the bill to identify it.
