The MORICASH M165 is a high-performance, compact, dual-pocket banknote sorter engineered for maximum efficiency and security in demanding cash handling environments. The M165 is the ideal choice for financial institutions and large retailers requiring speed, accuracy, and advanced counterfeit detection in one powerful device.

Key Benefits and Ideal Use Cases (389 words)

Unmatched Operational Efficiency

The core benefit of the double-pocket design is continuous processing. Rejected or suspicious bills are diverted to the reject pocket without stopping the count, dramatically increasing throughput. The M165 offers three counting speeds (800, 1000, 1200 sheets/min) to match your operational needs. Its innovative full-opening front aisle allows for easy maintenance, cleaning, and foreign object removal, minimizing downtime.

Advanced Security & Mixed Denomination Value Counting

The M165 is equipped with comprehensive, financial institution-grade security features. It utilizes cutting-edge Blink CIS technology and a dual-frequency infrared light for effective detection, even capturing "Super Dollars." Authentication is guaranteed by a multi-layered system including Dual CIS, UV, MG, IR, MT, security line variable ink, and serial number recognition for major global currencies (USD, EURO, GBP, CAD, MXN). It excels at mixed denomination value counting and sorting, automatically detecting currency and calculating the total value of mixed stacks.

Compact Design & User-Friendly Interface

As one of the most compact two-pocket sorters available, the M165 saves valuable workspace. Operation is intuitive via a user-friendly 4-inch TFT touchscreen with minimal keys, offering essential functions like MIX, MULTI, AUTO, SDC, CNT, Value Batch, and Addition. The machine is Plug and Play, supporting connectivity via LAN, USB, and RS232 for PC software data transfer or connecting to a MORI printer.

Ideal Users

The MORICASH M165 is perfect for environments with high-frequency, multi-currency cash operations:

  • Banks, Credit Unions, and Exchange Offices
  • Large Retailers and Casinos
  • Government Agencies and Vault Operations
  • Small and Medium-Sized Business Owners dealing with multiple currencies.

1. What is the difference between a bill counter and a currency discriminator?

A standard bill counter is a "piece counter"—it tells you how many pieces of paper went through. A currency discriminator is a "value counter"—it uses digital eyes (CIS) to look at the bill, identify if it’s a $20 or a $100, and give you a total monetary value.

2. Is a currency discriminator better at catching fakes than a cheap counter?

Yes. Standard counters usually only check for magnetic ink or UV glow. Discriminators use Image Recognition, meaning they compare the actual artwork and security features of the bill against a high-resolution database. This is the only reliable way to catch "supernotes" or bleached bills (e.g., a $1 bill reprinted to look like a $100).

3. What does "1+1 Pocket" or "2-Pocket" mean?

This is one of the most searched terms.

  • A 1-Pocket machine stops and beeps every time it finds a suspect or "unfit" bill.
  • A 2-Pocket (1+1) machine has a separate Reject Pocket. It sends suspect bills to the top pocket while the main count continues without stopping. This is essential for high-volume environments.

4. Can currency discriminators count international money?

Most modern discriminators come with "Multi-Currency" modes. Because they rely on image scanning, they can be programmed to recognize the distinct designs of Euros, Canadian Dollars, British Pounds, and Mexican Pesos, often handling them all in the same stack.

5. Why is my discriminator giving a "CIS Error"?

This is usually a sign that the "eyes" of the machine are dirty. Cash is incredibly dusty; we recommend using cleaning cards or a microfiber cloth weekly to wipe the sensors. If the sensors are blocked by dust, the machine can't "see" the bill to identify it.
