The Kolibri ROOK™ Bill Counter sets the standard for secure and efficient currency processing. Engineered for high-volume environments, this machine is the ideal solution for banks, retail stores, and businesses demanding fast, accurate counting combined with maximum counterfeit protection. The ROOK™ streamlines cash management, significantly boosting efficiency while safeguarding your assets.

Key Benefits & Ideal Users

The ROOK™ delivers exceptional speed, capable of processing up to 1,400 bills per minute. This rapid throughput drastically cuts down on manual counting time, allowing your staff to focus on critical customer-facing tasks and operational needs.

Its defining feature is its triple-threat counterfeit detection system:

  • UV (Ultraviolet): Checks for UV security threads and fibers.
  • MG (Magnetic): Verifies magnetic ink and security strips.
  • IR (Infrared): Analyzes the thickness and security markings printed using infrared ink.

This three-pronged security approach ensures virtually all types of fraudulent bills are identified instantly.

Ideal for:

  • Financial Institutions: Where high-speed processing and rigorous counterfeit security are mandatory.
  • Large Retail & Hospitality: For busy checkout lines and back-office reconciliation requiring continuous, error-free counting.
  • Any Business: That handles large daily cash transactions and needs the highest level of protection against fraud.

Use Cases: Secure & Continuous Cash Flow

  1. Ultimate Fraud Defense: Deploy the ROOK™ to subject every incoming bill to the UV, MG, and IR checks, providing comprehensive assurance of currency authenticity before it enters your registers or vaults.
  2. Uninterrupted High-Volume Counting: The generous 300-note hopper and 300-note stacker capacity reduce the need for frequent reloading, ensuring continuous operation even during peak cash-processing times.
  3. Efficient Batch Preparation: Use the integrated batch counting function and the intuitive digital display to quickly organize bills into precise bundles for deposits, cash register floats, or armored car pickups.
  4. Space-Saving Durability: The counter's compact dimensions ($10.04" \times 11.02" \times 9.06"$) and durable build allow it to fit easily into smaller workspaces while guaranteeing long-term, reliable performance.

1. Does a regular bill counter tell me the total dollar value?

No. A standard bill counter counts the number of pieces (quantity), not the denomination. For example, if you put in ten $5 bills and ten $20 bills, the machine will tell you there are "20 bills." You must pre-sort your money by denomination to calculate the total value. (If you need the machine to automatically calculate value for mixed stacks, check out our Currency Discriminators.)

2. How does the machine detect fake money?
Standard counters use two primary methods:

UV (Ultraviolet): It checks the paper’s reaction to UV light. Real US currency paper does not glow, but many counterfeit papers do.
MG (Magnetic): It scans for the magnetic ink used in the printing of authentic currency.

3. Can I count items other than currency?s.

Many of our regular bill counters can count other paper items of similar size, such as vouchers, tickets, or coupons, provided they fall within the machine's thickness and size specification

4. What is the "Batch" function used for?

The Batch function is a favorite for retail managers. It allows you to preset a number (like 25, 50, or 100). The machine will count exactly that many bills and then pause, allowing you to remove the stack and put a rubber band or paper strap around it for a bank deposit.

5. Why is my counter "double-feeding" or "jamming"?

This usually happens for one of three reasons:

Thickness Adjustment: There is a small tension screw on the back. If your bills are very new (thin) or very old (thick), you may need to adjust it slightly.
Dirty Sensors: Dust from paper currency can coat the sensors. A quick blast of compressed air usually fixes this.
Poor Loading: Ensure the bills are squared up and placed flat into the hopper for the smoothest feed.
