Kolibri ROOK™ – High-Speed Business Counter with Triple Detection

The Kolibri ROOK™ sets the standard for secure and efficient currency processing. Engineered for high-volume environments, this machine is the ideal solution for banks, retail stores, and businesses demanding fast, accurate counting combined with maximum counterfeit protection. The ROOK™ streamlines cash management, significantly boosting efficiency while safeguarding your assets with a professional-grade detection suite.

Triple-Threat Security & Elite Counting Speed

The ROOK™ delivers exceptional throughput, capable of processing up to 1,400 bills per minute. This rapid performance drastically cuts down on manual labor, while its defining feature—the Triple-Layer Detection System—ensures total financial integrity:

  • Ultraviolet (UV) Detection: Scans for authentic security threads and UV-reactive fibers embedded in genuine currency.
  • Magnetic (MG) Verification: Checks for the presence of magnetic ink and security strips, a critical defense against high-quality fraudulent notes.
  • Infrared (IR) Analysis: The most advanced layer, analyzing bill thickness and specialized IR security markings to catch "super-bills" that bypass standard counters.
  • High-Speed Accuracy: Process up to 1,400 notes per minute without sacrificing precision, ensuring your end-of-day reconciliation is both fast and flawless.

Engineered for Continuous, High-Volume Use

The ROOK™ is designed to be the backbone of your cash room, offering industrial capacity in a compact, user-friendly package:

  • Massive Loading Capacity: A generous 300-note hopper and 300-note stacker reduce the need for frequent reloading, maintaining a continuous workflow even during peak processing times.
  • Efficient Batching & Adding: Use the integrated Batch function to quickly organize bills into precise bundles for deposits, or the ADD mode to track running totals across multiple stacks.
  • Compact & Space-Saving: With a footprint of just $10.04" \times 11.02" \times 9.06"$, the ROOK™ fits easily onto crowded retail counters, beneath teller windows, or in small back-office workstations.
  • Intuitive Digital Interface: A clear, high-visibility display and simple controls ensure that staff members can operate the machine with zero learning curve.

1. Does a regular bill counter tell me the total dollar value?

No. A standard bill counter counts the number of pieces (quantity), not the denomination. For example, if you put in ten $5 bills and ten $20 bills, the machine will tell you there are "20 bills." You must pre-sort your money by denomination to calculate the total value. (If you need the machine to automatically calculate value for mixed stacks, check out our Currency Discriminators.)

2. How does the machine detect fake money?
Standard counters use two primary methods:

UV (Ultraviolet): It checks the paper’s reaction to UV light. Real US currency paper does not glow, but many counterfeit papers do.
MG (Magnetic): It scans for the magnetic ink used in the printing of authentic currency.

3. Can I count items other than currency?s.

Many of our regular bill counters can count other paper items of similar size, such as vouchers, tickets, or coupons, provided they fall within the machine's thickness and size specification

4. What is the "Batch" function used for?

The Batch function is a favorite for retail managers. It allows you to preset a number (like 25, 50, or 100). The machine will count exactly that many bills and then pause, allowing you to remove the stack and put a rubber band or paper strap around it for a bank deposit.

5. Why is my counter "double-feeding" or "jamming"?

This usually happens for one of three reasons:

Thickness Adjustment: There is a small tension screw on the back. If your bills are very new (thin) or very old (thick), you may need to adjust it slightly.
Dirty Sensors: Dust from paper currency can coat the sensors. A quick blast of compressed air usually fixes this.
Poor Loading: Ensure the bills are squared up and placed flat into the hopper for the smoothest feed.
