The Semacon S-1600V Currency Value Counter is a high-performance, professional machine designed for businesses, banks, and financial institutions that require unmatched speed coupled with instant monetary value calculation. The S-1600V accurately calculates the total dollar value of mixed denomination bills, drastically streamlining cash-handling operations with extreme efficiency and precision in demanding, high-volume environments.

Key Benefits & Ideal Users

The core strength of the S-1600V is its Value Discrimination technology. It automatically recognizes the denomination of each bill and calculates the total value of an unsorted stack, eliminating the need for manual sorting and counting errors. This feature works alongside four selectable counting speeds, topping out at an industry-leading 1,800 notes per minute. This combination ensures maximum throughput and reduces labor time significantly.

The unit provides a clear denomination breakdown on its user-friendly digital display, offering real-time visibility into the cash composition. Essential Error Detection flags issues like double bills and half notes, ensuring the highest level of count integrity and financial accuracy.

Ideal for:

  • Cash Centers & Vault Operations: Environments that process massive volumes of mixed cash and need instant, verified value totals.
  • Large Banks & Credit Unions: For back-office reconciliation where speed and accurate value reporting are mandatory.
  • Gaming and Vending Industries: Businesses with high volumes of mixed, unsorted bills requiring fast, precise valuation.

Use Cases: Instant Valuation and High Throughput

  1. Immediate Mixed-Batch Tally: Simply place unsorted currency into the large 250–400 note hopper, and the S-1600V provides an accurate dollar total and denomination report instantly, accelerating deposit preparation.
  2. Maximum Speed Processing: Utilize the 1,800 notes/min speed setting to handle the largest cash receipts in minutes, ensuring rapid end-of-day closeouts.
  3. Organized Bundling: The Batch Function allows operators to easily group bills into preset quantities, streamlining the process of organizing cash for strapping, floats, or vault storage.
  4. Durable Commercial Integration: Built with heavy-duty construction for continuous, low-noise operation and backed by a 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty, the S-1600V is a reliable investment for long-term, high-volume use.

1. Does a regular bill counter tell me the total dollar value?

No. A standard bill counter counts the number of pieces (quantity), not the denomination. For example, if you put in ten $5 bills and ten $20 bills, the machine will tell you there are "20 bills." You must pre-sort your money by denomination to calculate the total value. (If you need the machine to automatically calculate value for mixed stacks, check out our Currency Discriminators.)

2. How does the machine detect fake money?
Standard counters use two primary methods:

UV (Ultraviolet): It checks the paper’s reaction to UV light. Real US currency paper does not glow, but many counterfeit papers do.
MG (Magnetic): It scans for the magnetic ink used in the printing of authentic currency.

3. Can I count items other than currency?s.

Many of our regular bill counters can count other paper items of similar size, such as vouchers, tickets, or coupons, provided they fall within the machine's thickness and size specification

4. What is the "Batch" function used for?

The Batch function is a favorite for retail managers. It allows you to preset a number (like 25, 50, or 100). The machine will count exactly that many bills and then pause, allowing you to remove the stack and put a rubber band or paper strap around it for a bank deposit.

5. Why is my counter "double-feeding" or "jamming"?

This usually happens for one of three reasons:

Thickness Adjustment: There is a small tension screw on the back. If your bills are very new (thin) or very old (thick), you may need to adjust it slightly.
Dirty Sensors: Dust from paper currency can coat the sensors. A quick blast of compressed air usually fixes this.
Poor Loading: Ensure the bills are squared up and placed flat into the hopper for the smoothest feed.
